Who we are

PetVitals ("we") is a pet-care app published by Katreo. This policy explains what the app and petvitals.katreo.com process, why, which service providers are involved, and how you can control or delete your information.

Not medical advice

PetVitals helps you track and organize your pet's care. It does not provide veterinary diagnosis or treatment. AI answers, analytics and reports are informational only. Always consult a licensed veterinarian about your pet's health.

Information we collect

Account: your name, email address and a one-way hashed password.

Pet and care records you enter: pet profiles, activities, routines and reminders, special days, health records (for example weight, vaccinations, medications, symptoms, blood glucose and insulin), notes and support messages.

Photos you choose to add: pet profile photos and activity photos. The app asks for camera or photo-library permission only when you choose to add a photo, and uploads only the photos you pick.

AI requests: the questions you ask and the relevant pet context sent to generate an answer, analytics insights or a health-check assessment.

Subscription status from Apple or Google via RevenueCat. We never see your payment card details.

Technical data: app version, platform, language, time zone, push notification tokens, an anonymous install identifier used to show in-app messages at the right frequency, and app usage events.

On this website: when you tap an App Store or Google Play button we record the page, the button's position, your approximate country and city, your device type and the site you came from. We do not store your IP address or set cookies for this.

How we use it

To run the app: store and sync your records, send the reminders you set up, generate reports you request and show relevant in-app messages.

To answer AI requests: the relevant pet context is sent through OpenRouter to the AI model configured by PetVitals. It is not used by us to build advertising profiles.

To keep the service reliable and improve it, using aggregated usage and diagnostics data.

To contact you about your account, support requests and important service changes.

Service providers

Our servers and database (hosted infrastructure operated for PetVitals), OpenRouter and the AI model providers it routes to, RevenueCat (subscriptions), Google Firebase (analytics and push notifications) and Google AdMob (ads for free users). AdMob is asked for non-personalized ads only, and where required Google's consent form is shown before ads load. We do not sell your personal information and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Sharing reports

When you export a vet report or data file, the app creates a short-lived private link (valid for 30 minutes) and opens it on your device. Who you share the file with is up to you.

Retention

We keep your data while your PetVitals account exists. Archived pets keep their history until you delete them.

Delete your PetVitals account

In the app: open Profile > Account settings > Delete account and confirm. This works on iPhone and Android.

Without the app: email [email protected] from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your PetVitals account. We confirm within 48 hours.

Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, pets, activities, routines, health records, AI chat history, uploaded photos and notification tokens. Support messages you sent are kept without your name or email. Aggregated analytics that cannot identify you may remain. Purchase records kept by Apple, Google and RevenueCat follow their own retention rules, and an active subscription must be cancelled in the App Store or Google Play.

Delete some of your data

You can delete individual activities, health records and photos from their screens in the app, and delete a pet with all of its history from Profile > Archived pets > Delete forever. Removed photos are erased from our servers within 24 hours.

You can also email [email protected] to ask us to delete specific data without closing your account.

Security

Passwords are hashed, traffic is encrypted with TLS, sessions are stored in the device keychain, and access to the database is restricted. Uploaded photos are stored under unguessable identifiers.

Your rights and choices

You can access, correct, export or delete your information at any time in the app, or ask us to do it for you.

You can turn notifications off in system settings and review advertising consent from Ad privacy choices in the app.

Children

PetVitals is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
